The collective understanding of service providers across the country is that housing is healthcare. Stable housing is one of the most basic, effective, and cost-efficient forms of healthcare, as mental health, physical health, and housing are inextricably linked.

That’s why Flagstaff Shelter Services partners with North Country Healthcare, Native Americans for Community Action, The Guidance Center and Southwest Behavioral & Health Services to offer the collaborative Housing as Healthcare Program, which addresses the health and housing needs of vulnerable households experiencing homelessness by effectively and equitably expanding access to care and addressing social determinants of health to promote improved health and housing outcomes.

Through this innovative program, Flagstaff Shelter Services’ Housing Case Managers work in coordination with partner agencies’ primary care and behavioral health providers to ensure the seamless delivery of comprehensive services.
