Flagstaff Shelter Services Presents “Feast For Flagstaff” Fundraiser
Flagstaff Shelter Services’ (FSS) successful annual fundraising event, formerly known as “Four Squares for the Homeless,” is being reinvented this year with a new name, format, and location. The “Feast for Flagstaff: One Delicious Night, A Shelter for All Seasons” tasting event presented by the Forest Highlands Foundation will be held 7-10 p.m., on Saturday, April 11 at Forest Highlands, with all proceeds supporting the organization’s mission of providing year-round shelter and services for individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Feast for Flagstaff will feature cuisine from some of Flagstaff’s best and newest restaurants and caterers, including Sosoba, Toasted Owl, Taverna, Field House, Abineau Lodge, and Jitters Lunchbox. Guests will be invited to bid on a variety of silent auction items, all while tasting delicious cuisine samplings from local chefs, sipping craft cocktails, and listening to the music of Flagstaff favorite Kieran Smiley.
“Feast for Flagstaff is one of the primary fundraising events for Flagstaff Shelter Services, and we are grateful for the support this community has given us and this event in the past,” said Ross Altenbaugh, FSS Executive Director. “This support is even more critical as we look to raise funds to maintain a year-round shelter and fill a critical need in Flagstaff.”
Tickets for the Feast for Flagstaff are $75 each and are available for purchase online. This event would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors: Event Partner Forest Highlands Foundation; Event Advocates Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority (NARBHA), Prime Lending, and Dr. Brad Nicol of Flagstaff Neurosurgery; Event Neighbors Bradley J. Henkenius DDS of Doctors Village Family Dentistry, Pepsi, Lowell Observatory, Pioneer Title, JKC Inc. General Contractor, SenesTech, Inc. and Findlay Toyota. Any company or individual wishing to sponsor Feast for Flagstaff or restaurants wishing to participate, can contact Ross Altenbaugh at 928-526-0581.
FSS provides individuals experiencing homelessness with crisis stabilization and tools they need to achieve housing stability. Access to these services is available to all, regardless of faith, mental health, or sobriety. FSS provides these critical services to those most likely to die on the streets tonight. The goal is not only to assist individuals in finding permanent housing, but also to ensure that each person has access to the supportive services necessary to achieve housing permanence.
